There’s a Place for You Here
PSP
Dear Fellow SkyWest Flight Attendants,
One of my wishes for this campaign is that every SkyWest Flight Attendant feels they belong in it. That when we talk about building something together, you know that includes you.
I know how much we give to this job. We take care of passengers, look out for each other, and get through days that sometimes leave very little of us left by the time we get home. We have families who need us and lives beyond the airplane. I understand why getting involved can feel like one more thing we don’t have room for.
And sometimes, I wonder if people hold back because they don’t realize how much their presence would mean.
If that’s you, I hope you hear this: you matter to this campaign.
You don’t need a big personality or all the answers. You can have questions. You can still be learning. There is room for you exactly where you are.
Working on this campaign, I’ve had moments that reminded me how powerful it feels to be surrounded by people who care about the same things—people who understand why this matters and are willing to show up for one another. My wish is for more of us to feel that connection. To look at another Flight Attendant and know we have someone beside us.
That hope is part of what we want to bring to our new website at ooitstime.com: a place to learn, explore, and find a way into the conversation. I hope you’ll visit with whatever questions or hopes you’re carrying about our future.
Then, take that connection with you. Share something you found with another Flight Attendant. Ask what matters to them. Listen to their experience. Tell them why you care.
We spend so much of our working lives caring for people. This campaign is an opportunity to put some of that care toward each other and the future we want to share.
Every time someone reaches out, another Flight Attendant has a chance to feel heard. Every time someone joins in, the people already doing this work feel a little less alone. You may never know how much a simple “I’m here. How can I help?” means to someone who has been hoping more of us would get involved.
You don’t have to do everything. What you can do matters.
Visit ooitstime.com. Find something that speaks to you, and start a conversation. I would love to hear what brought you here, what you hope we can change, and where you’d like to help.
There’s a place for you in this campaign. And I hope you’ll take it.
