Our Survey: Real Voices, Real Priorities, a Real Union Future

Our voices matter — and our union drive is built on listening to each other, not corporate talking points. That’s why your SkyWest AFA Organizing Committee, comprised of SkyWest Flight Attendants, launched a survey to hear directly from you about the changes you want to see in our first union contract.

Hundreds of SkyWest Flight Attendants participated in the survey which was promoted via our SkyWest AFA newsletter and social media platforms.

This wasn’t a quick or surface-level poll. Our survey stayed open for nearly 10 months (July 2022 – May 2023), ensuring every Flight Attendant — no matter your base, seniority, or schedule — had plenty of time to weigh in.

📋 What Made This Survey Different?

Unlike company-run surveys, which often limit responses and control the narrative, this was a Flight Attendant-led survey with room for real, unfiltered feedback. Alongside structured questions, Flight Attendants had the opportunity to share free-form thoughts on key issues. Every piece of feedback came directly from SkyWest Flight Attendants — no corporate filters, no hidden agendas.

💬 Why Share This Now?

Some of you may wonder why we’re sharing this survey update now, after some time has passed. The answer is simple: this is the first time we’re sharing the survey results this fully and openly, but the feedback we received has been shaping our organizing from day one. The survey revealed exactly what matters most to SkyWest Flight Attendants — and those priorities have always been at the center of every conversation we’ve had about building our union.

We took the time to listen, compile, and thoughtfully reflect on what hundreds of Flight Attendants told us because we wanted to do this right, not rush.

Most importantly, the issues raised through your survey responses haven’t changed — we still hear about them every day. Whether it’s fair pay, improved schedules, commuter support, or basic workplace accountability, the same concerns keep coming up. That’s why this information remains just as relevant today, if not more so — it’s a clear reminder of what SkyWest Flight Attendants have been asking for all along: real improvements that can only be secured through a union contract we control together.

💡 Transparency from Flight Attendants, for Flight Attendants

We know there will always be different narratives, but this survey was designed to reflect SkyWest Flight Attendants' real, unfiltered priorities, without outside interference. The SkyWest AFA Organizing Committee remains committed to keeping our efforts transparent and focused on what matters most to Flight Attendants.
